A Mother's Gift began shortly after the birth of our daughter. We had committed to raising her as naturally as possible, even before her birth. Breastfeeding was a given. After she was born, the difficulties of nursing in public quickly became evident. She loved to pull on blankets, squirm, and watch the world around her while nursing. I wanted a solution that would maintain my modesty while nursing and visiting with family and friends.

We looked at nursing covers that were already on the market, and made some modifications to provide even more benefits to nursing moms. Sturdier and thicker neck straps were added along with a large terry cloth panel to help clean up mother and baby. Voila! A Mother's Gift nursing covers were born. The name was chosen to reflect our belief that breastfeeding is one of the best gifts a mother can give her child.

As the business started taking shape, we thought of other gifts that mothers pass along to their children. We wanted to provide a service for families that are raising their children with global awareness and environmental conscientiousness and decided to offer additional products that will support natural parenting and organic living.
